How we look after your data
In plain English: what Wish Tin keeps, what it doesn’t, and why.
- If you’re buying a present: you don’t need an account. If you say you’re buying something, we store a random code made by your browser, so only you can undo it. Your browser keeps that code in its local storage.
- The family never sees who’s buying what. They can’t see that at all.
- We never ask for your address, phone number or payment details.
- Your email, if you make an account: when you sign in with Apple or Google, they share an email address with us. With Apple you can choose “Hide My Email” and share a private relay address instead. We keep it with your sign-in details and use it only to sign you in – no marketing emails, and family and friends never see it.
- No tracking: no analytics, no advertising trackers and no tracking cookies.
- Shop links marked “Ad” may earn us a small commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. That’s how Wish Tin is paid for, so it stays free. The shop or affiliate network may set its own cookies when you follow one of those links.
- Where your data is: stored in the UK (Supabase, London). Pages and requests are served by Netlify, whose servers may process them in the US.
